About the Role:

As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for finding and securing incredible brand partners for Wondermind. This isn’t your typical sales job - we care deeply about our readers and their trust is everything to us. Our partnership approach is centered around authenticity and we want to build relationships with brands that can help us spotlight and amplify the conversations around mental fitness in all its forms.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the sales cycle from lead generation through deal conversion
  • Build out and own the go-to-market sales strategy for Wondermind
  • Meet revenue objectives while accurately forecasting quarterly performance
  • Develop best-practice sales processes and build your team as you scale up revenue growth
  • Foster deep relationships with like-minded brands and agencies
  • Continually identify sales opportunities, finding innovative ways to grow revenue and secure new accounts
  • Participate in brainstorms with our marketing and creative teams to develop thoughtful brand partnerships
  • Work cross-functionally with our larger team to support sales

Who You Are:

  • You have 5-7 years of digital / integrated media sales experience
  • You have a proven track record of securing high-value advertising deals and growing client account lifetime value
  • You possess a robust network of brand and agency-client relationships - the person in this role is expected to be able to leverage existing contacts to provide immediate value
  • You have dynamic communications skills with the ability to think strategically in high-pressure situations
  • You are creative and editorially minded
  • You are a strong leader with a roll-up-you-sleeves mindset who is solutions-oriented
  • You are client obsessed - we want people to love partnering with Wondermind!
  • You are passionate about Wondermind’s mission (but that’s a given)
  • You are a team player, kind, and bring a positive attitude to every interaction
  • You are naturally curious - if you don’t know how to do something, you’ll figure it out!
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment—agile and nimble in both leadership and execution
  • You are hard-working with a "no task is too small" attitude
  • You are never satisfied with the status quo, always thinking "how can we do this better?"
  • You confirm you can adhere to COVID office policies detailed below (through a secure platform that verifies vaccination status without sharing private health information) within 30 days of hire

Vaccination Requirement:

All current and future office Wondermind locations, temporary and permanent, operate under a policy that requires all employees to be fully vaccinated prior to being in the office, with limited exceptions for medical and religious reasons. Wondermind considers full vaccination to include boosters for those who are eligible to receive them (i.e. if you received your second dose of Moderna or Pfizer more than six months ago, you must also have received a booster to be considered fully vaccinated and permitted to work from Wondermind offices). Wondermind may update this policy at its discretion or in guidance and accordance with the latest medical guidelines as well as federal, state, and local laws, and in response to COVID developments. Wondermind is planning a hybrid return to the office model beginning in 2022.
